Homemade address plate

Last summer, my friends and I discovered The Pottery Place, a drop-in art studio where you pick a piece of pottery and paint it however you like. Then they glaze it, fire it & you pick it up in a week.

Vicki and I went on a date to The Pottery Place, and I decided to make a house number plate for our newly purchased home.

I chose colors that match the house. Tan with blue shutters, so I made a tan plate with blue lettering.

Here's the blank slate. So many opportunities!

I painted tan as the base color and then stuck on the stencil stickers for the lettering.

I got to work filling in the letters.

One last touch.

All finished!

I kept it a surprise until we got moved in & I could show Trevor. He loved it! I love how it looks in its place.

Goal board for work!

Here's a cute little fun project that I did for work. The assignment was to make a creative goal tracking board. I decided to use the Old West Cricut cartridge and make a cowboy/cowgirl themed goal board. I think it came out super cute!

First hosting event at the new house!

Ready for a journey back in time? Before we left for Alaska, we decided to have a couple of people over just to christen the new house with a small BBQ.

I set the table with my birds. I love my birds.

We made guacamole and served it with veggies and chips for variety. I recently discovered guac and celery. All the goodness of the guac without all the evil of the chips!

We love the new dining room table from Trevor's mom.

Trevor grilled all the meat in the house again. Steaks, chicken and sausage this time.

We opened one of the bottles of Barry's wine finally! He made it last June, and it was nicely aged by now.

For dessert, we grilled pineapple again with cinnamon and agave nectar, but we decided to cut it into rings instead of slices this time. It's prettier!

More dinner parties to come, I'm sure! I can't wait til Sunday Dinner starts up again!

An adorable diaper cake for an adorable mommy-to-be!

I'm taking a little break from the Alaska story-telling to welcome Ashlee's new little miracle into the world! Allie was born Wednesday & I think it's time to post about Ashlee's baby shower!

When I heard Ashlee was going to be a mom, I nearly cried. I am so excited for the whole family and their new baby Allie!

I wasn't able to attend the shower, but I made sure to make one of my signature diaper cakes for her to enjoy.

(Dad doesn't think "diaper cake" is a very attractive name for a gift. When he hears "diaper cake," well... he thinks of something else. Step into 2011, Dad! It's the baby gift everyone's getting!)

My materials

I bought these cute sparkly letters for her name!

I also found these really cute bibs that say "I love Mommy" "I love Daddy" etc.

I put her name on the top layer & surrounded it with pink flowers.

I wish you could feel this soft puppy! It was so snuggly!

Here's the finished product!

Welcome baby Allie & congratulations Mommy & Daddy P!

Packing for our Honeymoon!

We're finally going on our honeymoon! Trevor and I got married in September and purposely waited to take our honeymoon. Boy, was that the right choice! I couldn't have dealt with a full on vacation after wedding madness, but I'm definitely ready for it now!

Packing for a 2-week vacation is a daunting task! Is this really all I need??

Trevor and I are cheesy and got matching honeymoon t-shirts!

Can't wait to leave on Monday!
